An artist who needs no introduction, Mike Dunn returns to the legendary NYC label Nu Groove following the release of his 2023 EP ‘Rock Ya Body (Deepa)’. ‘Git’cha House On, Baby’ brings together disparate influences from the master’s encyclopaedic knowledge of genre and style, with tracks produced to a standard achievable only through the lived experiences of a four-decade career. Two versions of the title track are present for this three-track release, all with Dunn’s signature vocals front and centre. The MD Main MixX is a late 80s freestyle throwback, with hard synth lines running the show, while the MD Soulful Of House MixX gives the track a distinct retro funk feel. Accompanying both mixes is ‘Don’t Pay Me No Mind’, a metropolitan anthem led by a solid piano groove. Mike Dunn’s status as an innovator was earned through creating and influencing the scenes we know and love today, and this new delivery of originals further cements his status as a 100% house master.
