GOGO Music is delighted to deliver this fat Ralf GUM remix EP including remixes of the soulful hit of 2008 'Kissing Strangers' featuring Monique Bingham and of 'If No Harm' featuring Rachel Claudio. Gathering together an armada of remix-talents this is another 'not-to-be-missed' release for all heads.
'Kissing Strangers' with Monique Bingham on vocals should need no long introduction anymore, after it took the number spot 1 in Traxsource's 'Best of 2008' chart. Originally taken from Ralf GUM's long-player 'Uniting Music' the single release quickly stormed countless charts worldwide. The outstanding timeless vocal by Monique Bingham and production by Ralf GUM ensured that the song is now called a classic.
Switzerland's DJ Le Roi delivers a great Soulful Mix of the tune and teamed up with Ray Jones to produce an amazing Dub Mix of it. Since they've uploaded the mix on their myspace pages, we received countless requests for this tune and finally here it is. Le Roi started in the 90's to DJ on one of DK Browns parties at Atlantis in Basel. He rocked the house and from then on was booked in all of Basel's most popular hot spots and is now the resident DJ at Atlantis. Producing has also become one of Le Roi's passions, which he has now dedicated himself to, for the past 2 years. His first release was the smash hit I Get Deep with Roland Clark on Deeptown Music. Since then he had a variety of tracks and remixes on labels like Mn2S, Reelgroove or Foliage Records. The 22-years old producer and DJ, Ray Jones, released his very first productions on Deeptown Music in the beginning of the last year. By entering the Traxsource / Philly Groove remix contest in summer 2008, Ray's mixes of First Choice's Love & Happiness won immediately this competition and got a lot of support from many well-known DJ's. Shortly afterwards, he remixed Justin Michael's Deep Is All I Know on the prestigious US-label Soulfuric Deep.
Late 2008 GOGO Music presented in association with The GroundZero a ‚Global Producer's Remix Contest' for Ralf GUM's track 'If no Harm' featuring Rachel Claudio on vocals.
Our favourite remix out of the contest was provided by German Roed Svensk. After Roed began producing music, he soon grabbed the attention of various labels and had his first release on Soulfunk Digital Records. A string of releases and remixes on labels such as Seamless, Reelgroove, Blacksoulmusic or Barcoda followed and established his distinctive soulful sound. Besides his own productions Roed Svensk works as well with Benny Pecoraio as East West Affair who released lately on Seamless. His 'If No Harm' remix is pure class in a classical soulful style.
The second remix of 'If No Harm' is a deep affair. It sees South American's up- and coming DJ/ producer-team RyB teaming up with Ralf GUM. House and Lounge Dj Rafael Yapudjian from Sao Paulo and Bassist/Pianist/Guitarist Bispo from Santos composed their first works during the Brazilian Winter of 2005 and two months later recorded the first single for Building Records, one of the biggest Labels in Brazil and the force behind one of the greatest Dance Festivals in Latin America, PlanetPop . Since then RyB have been in high demand and the duo released a number of remixes. Especially the year 2008 saw them releasing many new songs with old friends in Europe and USA, such as Alfred Azzetto, Angelita Jimenez, Keith Thompson, Mustafa, Ralphski, Replay, Deep Josh, Jordan Rivera and many more. Next to the aforementioned mix together with GOGO Music's Ralf GUM, RyB deliver a second remix, which is just as silky and deep.
Finally we added a broken beat version by an eclectic electronic music artist called DevoShun. It's a completely different take on the soulful original, but as we at GOGO Music approach music with open ears and mind, we had to include it, as it's simply an interesting version. DevoShun lives and works in Philadelphia, where he has done sound design for the Curio theatre-company for Kafka's, The Trial and Road, as well as for Chosen dance-company Look Ma No Feet for DanceBOOM, Wilma Theatre.
We are sure that this release is set to do damage all around, as it provides something for everybody's taste.
