You should have heard this name by now. You should have heard a few songs of his on
radio at some point. What you also should have heard is a style and sound that’s
contemplative and confident which builds up to an eargasm. This is something you
wouldn’t confuse or mistaken with anything else you listen to for its uniqueness.
Reign Carol is a house music producer and DJ. His journey started more than a decade
ago. He was once part of a rap crew called Emancipated Mindz, an emce group of three
rappers that existed between 2002 and 2005 in Stellenbosch. Countless days and nights
spent on his mother's Windows 95 powered desktop computer, playing around and
discovering a few tricks on Fruity Loops Studio 3 was the inception of the non-stop
beat-making hobby which led to the growth of his craft to the level it’s at now.
There was a time when house music CD compilations took the South African music
scene by storm. Reign’s vision was to sign to a major label or release one of his songs
under one of prominent label's compilations. Even though the industry changed, he
fifinally reached his goal to show that hard work and dedication pays off. Having recently
joined household name, Lulo Cafe's Cadence Cartel team, Reign offers his first EP under
the label titled Manuskript which will be professionally released through Sony Music.
