SATURDAY BORN

Kwame Mensah has had close links to the London house music seen since the early 1990s. He DJ’d at many of London’s underground club scene parties such as MTTR, Penge Party and the Music Mill and went on to DJ on London’s biggest pirate radio station, Girls FM, making the Saturday 2pm slot his own by playing obscure soulful house. Not satisfied with the occasional DJ booking here and there, he decided to start his own club night with a select group of friends. Fl!rt was very successful sparking positive write ups in Time Out magazine and attracting over a thousand party goers. The music policy was uplifting house music played by residents Kwame Mensah, Glyne Brathwaite AKA Risk Assessment and Rob Voodoo. When he stopped promoting, he hung up his headphones for a few years before posting regular mixes on line and DJing every now and then. His first release, ‘The Feeling’ is still a popular choice for many DJs as a track that’s guaranteed to get the party started. His latest two tracks have been picked up by one of the UKs most successful house music labels, No Fuss
