Love parade, Berlin, 1999. And Superklonk reverberates over the hundreds of thousands of revellers. These moments were timeless. For years Berkovi couldn’t find the DAT Master for this release, originally out in 1999. And then, just before COVID hit, clearing out his loft, he found it. A limited vinyl release followed and here we’ve got the full remastered gem on PREDX001!
Superklonk was literally bashed out by Justin Berkovi on his beloved Yamaha RM1x (He did some of the sound design and factory patterns) fusing detroit pads with the infamous ‘klonk’ percussive sound. The lush pads give way to some sublime distorted claps and we’re rolling!
SCSI Dreams relaxes the vibe a little but still uses the downpitched percussive elements we found earlier in Superklonk. Here the rumbling dark bass is the champion.
Moving almost into trance territory, Antarctica is a driving melodic arp fuelled epic that just doesn’t let up.
Finishing up Berkovi drops another wicked electro number with some twisted lyrics in ‘Give Me, Give Me’ - go figure!
